What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from the constant storms coming my way to bring you the latest releases to home media for October 10, 2017. In this week’s episode, we discuss a kickin’ soundtrack disguised as a movie, the birth of a nation, and the end of a new classic. Let’s get started.
Baby Driver (R)

Ansel Elgort stars as Baby in this Edgar Wright film. Baby is a gifted getaway driver who has to have a constant stream of music going to combat the tinnitus he got as a result of a tragic accident. Unfortunately, when he comes into contact with a brutal crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he has to march to the beat of a different drummer when his next heist threatens everything he knows and loves. This film, which also stars Lily James, Eiza Gonzalez, and Jon Hamm, is available in a two disc 4K UltraHD/Blu-ray + Digital HD version, a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital HD version, and a single disc DVD version. Edgar Wright is one of the most talented directors in the game, and the cast he’s assembled is phenomenal. This is a must watch.
The Last Kingdom: Season One

It is the year 872, and the separate kingdoms of what will soon be known as England are at war with the Danes - with the exception of the kingdom of Wessex, led by King Alfred (David Dawson). Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon), the hero of this story, was captured by the Danes as a child and raised as one of their own. When forced to either fight for his country of birth or fight with the people who raised him, his loyalties are tested like never before. He has to play both sides in order to recapture his ancestral lands and eventually lead to the birth of a new nation. This series, which also stars Ian Hart, Adrian Bower, and Brian Vernel, is available in a three disc Blu-ray version and a two disc DVD version. Every nation has a history, and this is the history of England. It’s worth checking out.
The Leftovers: The Third and Final Season

Metascore: 98
In the final season of this acclaimed drama, the Garvey and Murphy families are coming together to try to explain what happened after the Sudden Departure. Something big is about to happen, but they’re not sure what, and their journey for answers leads them to the most dangerous place on earth: Australia. This series, which stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, and Christopher Eccleston, is available in a two disc Blu-ray version and a three disc DVD version. The journey for answers comes to a satisfying conclusion here, and I know you’ll be watching to see how this all wraps up.
