6 Wedding Invitations to Geek Out Over
So, last time we discussed Save the Dates. Now once you get closer to the wedding date, you need to send the actual invitations. And why be boring? Check out these awesome invitations for the geek in you and your soon-to-be spouse.
THIS. Made by Etsy user onelittlem. I was tempted to get these, but they were more money than I had to spend. And also, I can’t even count how many people texted, emailed, or called me to ask when, where, and what time the wedding was as if I didn’t send them an invitation. I know for a fact my mom had hers hanging on the fridge and still asked me for the address of the church. It was ridiculous but if I say, “Bitch, look at the invitation I already PAID to have printed and mailed to you.” then I’m the asshole. But I digress. This is a really cool invitation. I’m tempted to have one printed for my fake marriage to Zachary Quinto.
These interactive 8-bit invites made by an Offbeat Bride user are pretty cool. There’s a ribbon, that when pulled down, causes the bride and grooms avatars to come up out of the Mario tunnel. I like it.
This Star Trek invitation set, made by Etsy seller TotallyInvited, is totally awesome. Along with the invite, the set includes RSVP cards, thank you cards, and a reception information card. I love it. I’m tempted to get one for my fake marriage to David Cook.
Etsy user PuttinOnTheGlitz4U has this Lord of the Rings-Inspired invite. It’s wonderful. I wonder if I sent one of these to Ryan Seacrest with our names on it, if he’d show up with a tux and a ring.
I’m not a huge Superman fan, but I am a huge fan of this Superman Invitation. When it’s closed, it looks sort of like a suit, but open it up, and your secret wedding identity is revealed. It’s really cool. This was specifically designed by someone for a friend, but on the page in the comments there’s an email to request your own design.
I don’t know shit about Game of Thrones other than that everybody watches it but me. But this invitation suite is pretty kick ass. I saw it and I’m like, “Damn, I need to start watching that show.” I mean, I probably won’t, but I’m not above pretending that seeing this invite didn’t change my life.
So, these are the best out of what I found. Whatever your geek interest is, if you do enough internet sleuthing, you’re bound to find something awesome to cover what you need.
