Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - S2E19 - The Dirty Half Dozen

In preparation of the Avengers: Age of Ultron premiere, this week’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. went beyond most fans’ expectations. For those fans who hung in there, this episode was the pay off we have been waiting for.
Raina wakes up from horrible visions of Lincoln and Gordon being hurt. Jiaying was there to comfort her and to get information about her visions.
Gordon transports Skye and Cal back to Afterlife. Skye tells Jiaying Hydra showed up and attacked them and Lincoln got left behind. Skye asks Gordon to go back for him. Cal is infuriated with Jiaying for wanting to dump him off in Wisconsin. As usual, she calms him down because they have enough threats out there. Later, she asks him about Raina and he explains Raina is devious and deceptive. That’s probably why they got along so well. Crazy folk know how to stick together.
Gordon returns with a gash on his forehead. He was attacked by Hydra and barely escaped. Hydra has Lincoln and Jiaying refuses to rescue him. It’s too risky. Skye is upset and cannot understand why Jiaying is not willing to help. I don’t know what it is about Jiaying, but my instincts tell me not to trust her. She’s too calm and too reassuring. Just how does she have control over Cal? Maybe, I’m wrong but didn’t Raina at one time mention both of Skye’s parents being “monsters?”
Coulson and Gonzales decide to work together to rescue Lincoln, Deathlok, and any other captives from Hydra and bomb the facility. Coulson gets a team that consists of himself, May, Simmons, Fitz and Ward. Yes, I said Ward.
Gordon refuses to take Skye to where Lincoln is with HYDRA. It’s too dangerous. But Raina tells him she had a vision of Skye saving Lincoln as only she can. And Gordon won’t be taking her to HYDRA.
Coulson’s team is preparing for the mission when Skye shows up. The gang is back, and it’s about to get real. I literally got chills. The team is not thrilled that Ward is working with them, but they have no choice. Ward is the connection to Bakshi, who gets them into the Hydra base. I’m still leery of Bakshi.
The team splits up. Deathlok is found, and he tells Skye that Lincoln has been moved and not in good shape.
Skye finds Lincoln, but is attacked by several Hydra agents. I must admit this has to be the most kick-ass fight scene. The pace, how it was choreographed, and the filming were fantastic. I bet those Hydra agents won’t be saying, “Hail Hydra.” anytime soon.
Skye gets to Lincoln and he is coding. Using her powers, she shocks his heart and saves him. Simmons creeps up on Ward. As she is about to throw a bomb at him, Bakshi gets in the way and is disintegrated. Ward has his gun on Simmons, but he doesn’t kill her. He says he’s disappointed because she has changed. He runs off, leaving Simmons a little freaked about what just occurred.
The team arrives back at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters minus Ward. He’s decided to leave Agent 33 in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s hands. Ward knows he will never be forgiven and 33 deserves better. Gonzales admits to Bobbi that his true intentions were to capture Skye and any enhanced people Hydra had imprisoned.
Maria Hill contacts Coulson and asks if he knows the location of Loki’s scepter. He sends her all the information he obtained. Hill then asks about Theta Protocol and is it ready. Coulson replies, “Yes it is. Time to bring in the Avengers.”
Raina has a vision of Loki’s scepter and tells Jiaying about destruction and men made of metal. Hello… Did someone just hint about Avengers: Age of Ultron?
