Benedict Cumberbatch Reportedly Negotiating Doctor Strange

Deadline is reporting that Marvel has found their Doctor Strange. Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek: Into the Darkness) is said to be in early negotiations for the lead role, a neurosurgeon/sorcerer who protects the Earth from magical threats.

Joaquin Phoenix was rumored to be in talks for the role, and while we have nothing against Phoenix, Cumberbatch is an excellent choice. Shooting is expecting to begin next May for the film’s July 8th, 2016 release.
