BluTuesday: August 7th, 2012
What’s goin’ on, people? Joseph here, and I’m bringing you the new new stuff for BluRay for August 7, 2012. Hopefully, your collection is growing as large as mine is, and I’ve picked out a veritable cornucopia of new releases to talk about today. So, let’s skip the niceties and get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?
Adventures in Babysitting (PG-13) - 25th Anniversary Edition
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 78%
A classic from July 3, 1987, Adventures in Babysitting stars Elisabeth Shue as beleaguered babysitter Chris Parker – a 17 year old who’d rather be out with her boyfriend than watching over 15 year old Brad (Keith Coogan) and 8 year old Sara (Mia Brewton). When she gets a call from her friend Brenda (Penelope Ann Miller) who has run away from home, she takes her charges – along with Brad’s friend Daryl Coopersmith (Anthony Rapp) – into the mean streets of Chicago to get her friend and take her home. Of course, shenanigans ensue, but it’s of the most entertaining variety. The movie did well for itself in theaters, with a two week stint at #4 in the Top 5. It was considered a success, making over $34 million on its $7 million budget. This is a good trip down memory lane, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax Combo Pack
The imaginative world of Dr. Seuss comes to life like never before in this visually spectacular adventure from the creators of Despicable Me! Twelve-year-old Ted will do anything to find a real live Truffula Tree in order to impress the girl of his dreams. As he embarks on his journey, Ted discovers the incredible story of the Lorax, a grumpy but charming creature who speaks for the trees. Featuring the voice talents of Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Rob Riggle, Jenny Slate, and Betty White, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is filled with hilarious fun for everyone!
Here is the murderously funny movie based on the world-famous Clue board game. And now, with this special videocassette version, you can see all three surprise endings! Was it Colonel Mustard in the study with a gun? Miss Scarlet in the billiard room with the rope? Or was it Wadsworth the butler? Meet all the notorious suspects and discover all their foul play things. You’ll love their dastardly doings as the bodies and the laughs pile up before your eyes.

I love that movie! You just reminded me that I need to buy this. Clue on BluRay? Sweet!
I’m actually a bit ashamed to admit I’ve never seen Clue. I may have to rectify that now.
