What’s going on, ProFans? Joseph here, and I’m taking a break from recovering from Christmas to bring you the latest releases in home media on this the last Tuesday in 2014. In this week’s episode, we discuss vengeful angels, misguided immortals, Denzel Washington and his old man strength, another weird ass Kevin Smith movie, and surviving in spite of. Ready to get started? Let’s get started.

Based on the Paul Bettany film Legion, this continues the story that the movie started, but centering around Charlie’s son Alex (Christopher Egan). Together, with his lover Claire (Roxanne McKee), and the renowned archangel Michael (Tom Wisdom), they must protect the city-fortress of Vega - formerly Las Vegas - against fellow archangel Gabriel (Carl Beukus) until God returns. This series is available in both a two disc Bluray + Digital Copy version and a two disc DVD version. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this series, although I have yet to watch it myself. If you liked the movie, then this may be something you want to look into.

Starring John Simm - The Master from Doctor Who, this show tells the story of former L.A.P.D. detective Jack Whelan as an investigation he is undertaking leads him to seek out a secret society of people who are chasing immortality by inhabiting the bodies of others. This series - which also stars Mira Sorvino - is available in both a two disc Bluray version and a three disc DVD version. The BBC is consistently pumping out great television, and this series is no exception.

Denzel Washington plays Robert McCall, a man who has a specific set of skills that - oh, wait; that’s Taken. My bad. But, Robert McCall is an intelligence officer with a mysterious past who wants to live out the rest of his life in peace and quiet. But, when he sees a young girl named Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz) being abused by Russian gangsters, he takes her under his protection, which can only spell certain doom for those gangsters. This movie - which also stars Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman - is available in both a single disc Bluray version and a single disc DVD version. This movie is all out action from the word go, and Denzel Washington continues on his streak of trying to out Liam Neeson Liam Neeson. I’d love to see those two in a buddy cop movie together, but I digress. Anyway, this movie is my pick of the week.

Michael Parks, Justin Long, and Génesis Rodríguez star in a charming movie about psychosis, bad comedy, and walrus obsession. When Wallace Bryton (Long) travels to Canada to interview an internet celebrity, he instead ends up meeting someone who will change his life forever. This movie - which also stars Haley Joel Osment and Johnny Depp - is available in both a single disc Bluray + Digital Copy version and a single disc DVD version. Let’s see…how can I put this succinctly? Oh, yeah!

In the fourth season of this American remake of the British series of the same name, things are starting to look up for the Gallagher clan; Fiona has a steady job, Lip is in college, and all is right with the world. But, like most things when you’re at the bottom working your way up, stuff happens to drag you back down; the things working against the Gallaghers now seem to be enough to break them forever. This series - which stars William H. Macy, Emily Rossum, and Justin Chatwin - is available in both a five disc Bluray version and a three disc DVD version. If ever you wanted to see what a show like Roseanne would be if it were real, this is the show for you
