What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from my recuperation to bring you the latest releases to home media for July 18, 2017. In this week’s episode, we discuss conspiracy theories, the King of the Jungle, the fight for survival, and sci-fi political intrigue. Let’s get started.
Buster’s Mal Heart (NR)

Rami Malek plays Jonah, a family man who has a fateful encounter with a conspiracy theorist who goes by The Last Free Man (DJ Qualls). Now going by “Buster,” he goes from house to house eluding the law and trying to put together exactly what tore his life apart. This film, which also stars Kate Lyn Sheil, Toby Huss, and Lin Shaye, is available in a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. Rami Malek is a great actor, and this sounds like a pretty mindbending thriller. Give it a watch.
Kong: Skull Island (PG-13)

When Bill Randa (John Goodman) and Houston Brooks (Corey Hawkins) set out to lead a scientific expedition to the mysterious Skull Island, they stumble on a discovery no one could have ever imagined. Enlisting the aid of a mercenary (Tom Hiddleston), a wartime photographer (Brie Larson), and a military general (SAMUEL L. JACKSON), they find themselves in the middle of a war the likes of which none have ever seen. This film, which also stars John C. Reilly, Jing Tian, and John Ortiz, is available in a two disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray + Digital Copy version and a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version. I initially didn’t plan on watching this movie, but I decided to check it out during a fit of boredom. I was in no way disappointed in the end result. This was a fantastic movie, and I highly recommend checking it out.
The 100: The Complete Fourth Season
In the fourth season of the CW drama, the titular 100 find themselves at the focal point of both the Grounder world and their home base of Arkadia. But, when they discover the remaining nuclear reactors on Earth are melting and threatening to set the atmosphere on fire, it’s up to the Grounders to fight for both humankind and all life itself. This series, which stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, and Marie Avgeropoulos, is available in a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. This series is a surprisingly deep show that’s worth your time, especially if you’re already invested.
The Expanse: Season Two
For decades, there have been tensions brewing between the U.N.-controlled Earth, the military might of Mars, and the resource-heavy Asteroid Belt. In this season, the deadly protomolecule virus has hit Eros hard and threatening the entire solar system. Meanwhile, the reasons for it being released are being exposed, and this could be the catalyst for an all-out war between the three superpowers. This series, which stars Thomas Jane, Dominique Tipper, and Shohreh Aghdashloo, is available in a three disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version and a four disc DVD version. The Syfy Network has been knocking it out of the park as far as TV shows go, and this is no exception. Give this show a watch; you won’t be disappointed.
