Howdy, ProFans! I’m taking a break from… doing something I’m not supposed to be doing to bring you the latest releases on home media for June 24, 2014. In this week’s episode, we discuss Jake Gyllenhaal, a modern day succubus, and a mystery that crosses international borders. All set to get started? Let’s get to it, then.

Enemy (R)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 75%

What would you do if you ran into your doppelganger? Someone who looked identical to you? Well, if you’re talking about this movie, then… well, the title says it all. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mélanie Laurent, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Isabella Rossellini, Enemy gives you a lot of twists and turns, and an ending that is quite bizarre. This movie - based on the 2002 novel The Double by José Saramago - is available in a single-disc blu-ray version or single-disc DVD + Digital Copy version. This is an odd movie, but it’s one that’s worth your time.

Lost Girl: Season Four

Lost Girl continues the story of Bo (Anna Silk), a modern day succubus, as she strives to control her powers and live among the humans. This season has her facing off against her roughest challenge yet; a sect of Fae called “Una Mens.” Bo and her companions set off to face the Fae, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. This series is available in both a three disc Blu-ray version and a five-disc DVD version. I had never heard of this show until I noticed a sale on my Xbox One a while back. Now that I know this show exists, I’ll be checking it out right away.

The Bridge: The Complete First Season

Based on the Danish/Swiss TV series of the same name, this stars Diane Kruger and Demián Bichir as detectives - one American and one Mexican, as they try to find a serial killer who is terrorizing the Texas-Chihuahua border. Along the way, they have to deal with the insane corruption of the Mexican police, as well as the drug cartels who would love nothing more than to slaughter a couple of cops. This series is available in both a three-disc Blu-ray version and a four-disc DVD version. This series is incredibly suspenseful, it’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, and it is my pick of the week.

Well, that’s all I got for this week. Got any questions or comments? Did I miss anything you wanted to discuss? Feel free to hit me up in the comments section below.

Until next time…
