What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from getting an idea for my NCAA tourney bracket to bring you the latest releases to home media for March 7, 2017. In this week’s episode, we discuss Hong Kong action, a dignified biopic, Disney at its finest, and Idris Elba. Let’s get to work.
Cold War 2 (NR)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 43%
In the aftermath of Operation: Cold War, a criminal mastermind escapes from police custody. This throws Hong Kong into turmoil, as the police department has broken down like fractions. With this newly divided force becoming the new status quo, three police chiefs have to take matters into their own hands, with deadly consequences being the order of the day. This film, which stars Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Ka Fai, and Chow Yun-Fat, is available in a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. I’m sure you would have to know the ouvere of the Cold War universe to get the gist of this story, but this sounds like it’d be an action-packed double feature.

Natalie Portman stars as Jacqueline Onassis Kennedy, the former First Lady of the United States. As she deals with the unenviable grief after the assassination of her husband John F. Kennedy, she finds solace in her faith, her children, and - although she didn’t realize it at the time - the legacy she would leave for the rest of time. This film, which also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, and John Hurt, is available in a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version and a single disc DVD + Digital Copy version. This is a very powerful film, and Natalie Portman knocks it out the park as the titular character. I highly recommend it.
Moana (PG)

Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) plays Moana, a princess who has the heart of an adventurer. Alongside the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) and her faithful pet chicken Heihei (Alan Tudyk), she sets forth on a quest to save her people and forge her own identity in a world where her fate has already been mapped out for her. This film, which also stars Temuera Morrison, Rachel House, and Jemaine Clement, is available in a three disc 3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD version. This film is a lot of fun, it’s a beautiful story, and it’s well worth your time.
100 Streets (NR)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 41%
This film tells three intertwining stories as they play out in London. Max (Idris Elba) is a former rugby star who’s trying to find a new purpose and save his marriage to Emily (Gemma Arterton). Kingsley (Franz Drameh) is looking for a way off the streets selling drugs when he meets an actor who gives him a new direction. George (Charlie Creed-Miles) is desperate to have kids, but when he and his wife Kathy (Kierston Wareing) wind up in an accident, their otherwise strong marriage begins to fall apart at the seams. This film, which also stars Ken Stott, Tom Cullen, and Jo Martin, is available in a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. This film is very inspirational, and it goes to show you that anyone can make a wrong turn, but the journey is what allows us to find the right path.
