What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from fighting a losing battle with my allergies to bring you the latest releases to home media for May 12, 2015. In this week’s episode, we discuss Alzheimer’s Disease, Johnny Depp doing what Johnny Depp does, hacking, and a pretty popular burger joint. Ready to rock? Let’s get to it.
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 89%
Alice Howland (Julianne Moore) is a successful teacher with a happy family, including three grown children. However, when she starts forgetting words, she receives a diagnosis of Early-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Thus, the struggle to remain connected to who she once was begins. This film, which also stars Alec Baldwin, Kristin Stewart, and Kate Bosworth, is available in both a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. This movie is incredibly powerful, and as someone who lost a relative to Alzheimer’s, it’s a gut punch to watch it play out. This movie is my pick of the week.
Mortdecai (R)

Charlie Mortdecai (Johnny Depp) is an art dealer by day, and a rogue by night. His quest to retrieve a priceless painting teams him up with his rival Martland (Ewan McGregor), but he soon finds out that there are more powerful forces at work here for this picture. This film, which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Olivia Munn, and Jeff Goldblum, is available in both a single disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version and a single disc DVD version. I think the less said about this film, the better.

When a cyberterrorist cell wreaks havoc on networks all over the world, FBI Special Agent Carol Barrett (Viola Davis) knows she can only turn to one man to make things right: Thor, I mean Nicholas Hathaway (Chris Hemsworth), a convicted hacker. Hathaway is on the clock to prevent a nuclear meltdown that would change the world forever. This film, which also stars Leehom Wang, Ritchie Coster, and Tang Wei, is available in a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version and a single disc DVD version. This movie shows how hacking is really done, as opposed to how hacking traditionally looks in film (see Swordfish, Disclosure, and Hackers). As such, it’s not the most entertaining thing to see. But, if that’s your thing, have at it.
Bob’s Burgers: The Complete Fourth Season
Bob and his family return for the fourth season of this successful sitcom. Bob takes on a second job as a substitute home econ teacher, Linda puts on a performance at her high school reunion, and the family decides to film a local advertisement for the Super Bowl. This series, which stars H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, and Dan Mintz, is available in a single disc DVD version. This show loves to make fun of itself and shows like it, and it’s certainly worth your time.
