What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from reading my backlog of comics to bring you the latest releases to home media for October 11, 2016. In this week’s episode, we discuss strange things in your neighborhood, the franchise that won’t end, the “country of Africa,” an instant animated masterpiece, and legendary protectors. Let’s get right to it.

Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (PG-13)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 73%

When a ghost invasion threatens to destroy Manhattan, four friends band together to save their city and the world. paranormal scientists Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) and Erin Gilbert (Kristin Wiig), nuclear physicist Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), and New York City historian and MTA employee Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones) join forces to show that they ain’t afraid of no ghost. This film, which also stars Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams, and Neil Casey, is available in a three disc 4K UltraHD/Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray + Digital Copy extended version, a single disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy extended version, and a single disc DVD version. Packed full of laughs and fun galore, this movie is destined to be - at the very least - a cult classic, and it’s a worthy addition to the Ghostbusters franchise.

Ice Age: Collision Course (PG)

When Scrat (Chris Wedge) and his search for the elusive acorn takes him into outer space, his actions set off a series of events that threaten the Ice Age world. It’s up to Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo), and the rest of the gang to come together and save their way of life. This film, which also stars Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, and Jennifer Lopez, is available in a two disc 4K UltraHD/Blu-ray + Digital Copy version, a three disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD version. Somehow, this franchise is still going, although I have no idea why or how. Maybe it’s time for this franchise to go extinct.

The Legend of Tarzan (PG-13)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 36%

Having acclimated to life out of the jungle, Tarzan - now known as John Clayton III (Alexander Skarsgård) finds himself thrust back into the Congo along with his wife Jane (Margot Robbie). Their mission? To stop Captain Leon Rohm (Christoph Waltz) from destroying the Congo and everything Tarzan holds dear. This film, which also stars SAMUEL L. JACKSON, Djimon Hounsou, and Casper Crump, is available in a two disc 4K UltraHD/Blu-ray + Digital Copy version, a three disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD version. There is no way in hell I would ever recommend anyone buy this. I wouldn’t recommend anyone bootleg this. I wouldn’t recommend anyone catch this on Pay TV. I can’t recommend this at all.

Adventure Time: The Complete Sixth Season

In the sixth season of this critically acclaimed series, Finn (Jeremy Shada) and his best friend/adopted brother/dog Jake (John DiMaggio) embark on yet another fantastical adventure. This time, the adventure is personal, as Finn finds his human father (Stephen Root) and makes attempts to bond with him. This series, which also stars Hynden Walch, Olivia Olson, and Tom Kenny, is available in a two disc Blu-ray version and a three disc DVD version. This series is a lot of fun, deeper than it has any right to be, and it’s something I can wholeheartedly recommend.

The Musketeers: Season Three

In the third season of this acclaimed series, the Musketeers - Porthos (Howard Charles), Athos (Tom Burke), Aramis (Santiago Cabrera), and d’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino) face their biggest challenge yet: the corrupt Marquis de Feron (Rupert Everett) and his right hand man Lucien Grimaud (Matthew McNulty). This titanic battle sets the intrepid heroes on a path where not everyone will come out alive. This series, which also stars Alexandra Dowling, Ryan Gage, and Tamla Kari, is available in a three disc Blu-ray version and a three disc DVD version. This has been a consistently good show that didn’t get nearly the credit it deserved. I highly recommend checking this show out.
