What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from plotting out my Friday nights to bring you the latest releases to home media for October 6, 2015. In this week’s episode, we discuss a bad guy with a complex, the most originally titled movie in ages, dude bros, spooky remakes, time traveling epics, and fairy tale adventures. Avengers: Age of Ultron (PG-13)

When Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) decide to create a sentient peacekeeping program called Ultron (James Spader), things go horribly wrong. Ultron, along with twins Wanda (Elizabeth Olson) and Pietro (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) Maximoff, plans to fulfill his programming by making the world a safer place - by any means necessary. This film, which also stars Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth, is available in a two disc 3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray + Digital Copy version, a single disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD version. Marvel Studios have been knocking it out of the park since its inception, and this film is no different. It may have its detractors (they’re wrong, by the way), but even the “lesser” films have been hits. Despite the controversy that sailed a thousand think pieces, this film was a lot of fun, and it is my hands down Pick of the Week.
Spy (R)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 93%
Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an desk bound analyst for the CIA; she does the research so her partner Bradley Fine (Jude Law) can look like a hero and save the day. But, when Bradley disappears and Rick Ford (Jason Statham) is compromised, Susan finds herself thrust into field work, and it’s up to her to save the day. This film, which also stars Rose Byrne, Allison Janney, and Bobby Cannavale, is available in both a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. This film was a surprise hit; no one expected to be any good, but it really turned heads both with critics and moviegoers alike. I highly recommend giving this a look, regardless of how you feel about Melissa McCarthy. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Entourage: The Movie (R)

The gang’s all here for this film version of the hit HBO series. Yay? Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) is looking to finally get his film on the big screen, and he turns to his former agent cum studio head Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) for help. What happens next is a typical Entourage episode with more T&A and a bigger budget. This film, which also stars Kevin Connolly, Emmanualle Chirqui, and Jerry Ferrara, is available in a single disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version and a single disc DVD version. Look…if you liked the series, you’ll love this movie. If you didn’t, you won’t. I didn’t, so I knew I wouldn’t. At least you’ll get a lot of big-time cameos to brighten your day.
Poltergeist (PG-13)

Eric Bowen (Sam Rockwell) and his wife Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt) have found the house of their dreams; it’s beautiful, spacious, and has more than enough room for their kids Griffin (Kyle Catlett), Kendra (Saxon Sharbino), and Madison (Kennedi Clements) to play in. But, when weird things start happening and Madison ends up missing, they call on Father Carrigan (James Harris) to determine whether or not their dream home is actually a haunted home. This film, which also stars Jane Adams, Susan Heyward, and Nicholas Braun, is available in both a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. I’ve said for years that I don’t do horror, and there are two reasons why: the original version of this film and Gremlins; they both jacked me up big time. So, I’m sure this is sufficiently creepy, but I’ll never know. I’ll listen to someone tell me about it, though.
Outlander: Season One - Volume 2
Claire Randall (Catriona Bale) can’t catch a break. Claire and Jaimie Fraser (Sam Heughan) find their relationship tested by the brutal Redcoats, witch trials, clan politics, and the fact that she’s already married in another time and place. They escape to find a new home, but Claire soon finds out that there are things that are worse than death itself as she struggles to save Jaimie’s soul. This series, which also stars Gary Lewis, Graham McTavish, and James Fleet, is available in a two disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version, a two disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy collector’s edition, and a single disc DVD version. We cover this show here, so it must be good. Finish your collection and enjoy.
Grimm: Season Four
There are bad things afoot in Portland. Nick (David Giuntoli) lost his Grimm abilities, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) is still recuperating from his injuries in the last battle, and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) got married. On top of that, more dangerous Wesen are making their way to the Great Northwest, and Team Grimm has a lot on their hands if they expect to come out of this alive. This series, which also stars Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch, and Reggie Lee, is available in both a five disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version and a five disc DVD version. The world of Grimm is a freaky one, and the city of Portland doesn’t know what it’s getting itself into. Give this entire series a watch; you won’t be disappointed.
