Well, that escalated quickly.

Damn near every hero in the Marvel Universe comes together to stop an invader from another dimension - a celestial destructor - and while high fives and drinks are had afterwards, no one knows how the threat came to be on their radar to begin with.

Medusa introduces Ulysses, the college student turned Inhuman just a few weeks prior, who had a vision of the world being destroyed. This resulted in the all-hands-on-deck mission which opened the issue.

Tony Stark is immediately cautious of using the visions of a new Inhuman to guide their missions. He’s further disturbed by Captain Marvel’s desire to use Ulysses to help The Ultimates implement a program using his visions to stop crimes before they occur. The fact that they were able to stop the massive threat earlier in the evening proves that what Ulysses sees isn’t set in stone - it’s a possible future. How would they use his visions if he were to have one about one of them? Is it right to detain someone for something they’ve not yet done - and might not ever do - because of any number of unknown variables, like every Marvel hero being called in to stop it?

These are all great questions and everyone eventually settles on agreeing to disagree until they know more about how Ulysses’ powers work.

However, after a devastating vision, Ulysses asks Medusa to call The Ultimates. By the time Tony is called in, two heroes are dead and Tony is furious. The only good thing to come out of it is that they have Thanos in custody.

It’s going to be very interesting to see which side our heroes fall on. I haven’t yet finished the first Civil War event (and I will), and I don’t know how the ending of the film (and its upcoming fallout in future Marvel films) differ from the conclusion of the comic book series, but it seems as though Tony is a bit more reserved than his character has been in the past. Though his relationship with one of the deceased pretty much guarantees that will change going forward.
