It occurred to me while watching this episode that I’m missing two vital pieces of information: How long has the world been occupied by the aliens? And why doesn’t Katie think she can tell her husband about her role in the resistance?

It seems she would make things a lot easier if she gave Will the opportunity to truly work with her from the inside. Instead, she ends up putting their whole family in danger when Quayle feels as though Katie’s connection to Will is more of a risk than a source of valuable of information for their cause.

When one of their own dies during a hijack drill, Katie returns home in a state. This doesn’t go unnoticed by the government-assigned tutor. Nice move, Katie. She covers up her nerves by initiating frantic sex with Will in the bathroom, then later claims her weird behavior was because she missed their son.

Will and Beau find the dead resistance member’s home, and Will loses it when the guy’s family is sent to the factory for harboring a terrorist. There’s gotta be a better way to get their son back, he later says to Katie. This isn’t enough for Katie to open up.

Meanwhile, Quayle is not pleased that Will is so damn good at his job: Led by Will, Homeland Security raided one of their armories. Broussard is sent to Katie with a message: Either she needs to supply them with info that cancels out their losses, or Will’s performance at work needs to go way down. Katie eventually agrees under the stipulation that Will is never harmed. Broussard gives his word, but I don’t believe it for a second. She tells what she knows about Will’s intel: Homeland Security has a massive database and an ex-CIA whiz who can make sense of it: Phyllis.

Oddly enough, Will and Katie’s son may have found a way beyond the wall simply by following a classmate on a secret trip. Ah, if only this family was communicating!
