Come Along, Pond; The Galaxy is Calling
Hot on the heels of the announcement that Glenn Close will be joining Guardians of the Galaxy, The Hollywood Reporter just broke that Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) will be starring in the film as well.
Gillan played the 11th Doctor’s companion, Amy Pond, through Doctor Who‘s fifth, six, and seventh seasons. A huge fan favorite, she’ll no doubt bring many Whovians to the theaters for Guardians. While her character’s name has yet to be released, it’s being reported she’ll play the film’s lead female villain.
