Garza shows up on facial recognition software and Alec tracks her location. Kiera and Carlos bring her in, but Kiera’s rough tactics (Dillon approved) fail to get any answers. In fact, Garza implies that the chip inside her head has made Kiera crazy. She taunts her by saying she knows Alec’s purpose for her and that she should start thinking for herself.
Alec figures out a way to tap into Travis’ CMR and pinpoint his location. Before Kiera can close in, she spots a group of Julian’s people starting a rally. She watches and sees the body snatchers who killed Gardiner. Alec sends out a pulse and it links Travis’ CMR with Kiera’s, momentarily disorienting them both. She fights with the body snatchers and manages to blend into the crowd of protesters. Later, Julian calls her out as a cop and she’s questioned by him. She’s shocked (and so are his followers) when he doesn’t kill her, but lets her go.
Emily wants Escher to let her go because she’s in love with Alec, but he won’t. He tells her to take Alec out to dinner and then shows up at the restaurant and introduces himself, pretending not to know Emily. He has now ensured that Alec will definitely feel betrayed when he finds out she works for him. She swears she has told him everything going on in Alec’s lab. Garza escapes from the police station by taking a detective hostage and later killing him.
Alec has to restart Kiera’s CMR to fix the damage caused by the freelancers. This causes pain to her and Travis just as he’s about to pick up Garza. It lasts long enough for the freelancers to incapacitate Garza and kidnap her. Lucas is seeing visions of Curis Chen, who tells him he can’t trust Sonya or Matthew.
