Easter Egg Revealed to be in Man of Steel

Zack Snyder, director of the upcoming Man of Steel, has revealed the presence of a potentially groundbreaking Easter egg in Man of Steel.

Before we go any further, this could be considered a somewhat large spoiler, so read beyond this point at the peril of your own Man of Steel experience.

Okay, so the press junket for Man of Steel is under way in Los Angeles, so while you’ve clearly chosen to view this particular spoiler, be aware that many more are likely to be hitting the internet this weekend and pretty much right up to the film’s release on June 14. Snyder spoke with Brazilian website Omelete, and boy did he have a lot to say. For starters, he revealed that he found a way to finagle the Wayne Enterprises logo into the film:

“The Wayne Enterprises logo is on a satellite that Zod destroys.”

That’s right, ProFans; this officially confirms that Warner Bros. and DC are getting in on the “shared cinematic universe” Marvel has monopolized for the past 5+ years. Bruce Wayne/Batman will exist in the Man of Steel universe. Do we know if it’ll be the Nolan/Bale Batman? No, but we expect it will not be, as this will be setting up the Justice League film we’re almost certain to get at some point in the next few years. Could we also get a World’s Finest film before then? Possibly, everything seems to be on the table, as Snyder alluded to when asked about a possible Superman/Batman team-up in any Man of Steel sequel that will surely come about:

“I don’t know. Everything is interesting at this point. And don’t forget that Lex is out there, doing who knows what…”

Right now, I’m going to unofficially speculate that the Man of Steel sequel will, at least in some way, be World’s Finest (from now on, referred to as Man of Steel: World’s Finest). The question is, would Lex Luthor be a good villain for Superman and Batman to face together? The answer? If it’s done correctly. That’s always the answer.

This also bodes very well for the possible Wonder Woman film we desperately need Gina Carano to star in. Then we get a Flash (Michael Rosenbaum) or Green Lantern/John Stewart (Chadwick Boseman) standalone film, Justice League, and then the DC Cinematic Universe Phase 2 would likely include a Martian Manhunter film… and…. and… I’m getting carried away, but that’s what fans are supposed to do right? All because of one little logo.
