Finally, We Are Not Alone

Tonight, Warner Bros. Pictures released a 32-second “message” from General Zod, and finally got Man of Steel’s viral marketing campaign kicked off.

Months and months have gone by with tidbits about the film, its costumes, and its plot leaking out slowly but surely; finally, it looks like Warner Bros. Pictures has blown open the lockbox on their viral marketing campaign for Man of Steel, and it’s fantastic. It’s just 32 seconds, and you can’t make out hardly anything, but that’s the beauty of a campaign with strong virality. With just this short video, they’ve set the stage for what kind of villain Man of Steel’s General Zod is going to be, and it’s one of chaos and intimidation. If you think maybe it’s reminiscent of their campaign for The Dark Knight’s Joker, you are not alone, and I presume that fact isn’t lost on the filmmakers, either. I can’t wait.

John is currently untitled. This complete lack of definition would drive most into abject bitterness and utter despair, but not someone of John’s virility. No, John is the picture of mental stability and emotional platitude.
