Firefly: The Game

Yes! After years of not even knowing I wanted a Firefly board game, there is now a Firefly board game: Firefly: The Game created by Gale Force Nine. It was unveiled at GenCon recently, and some lucky bastards had a chance to play it.

The Game is, of course, based on the short-lived television series Firefly. It’s a 1-4 player game in which players captain their own Firefly spaceship and travel around with a crew, taking any paying job they can find; pretty much like in the television show. They must complete jobs and face challenges to continue flying. I don’t know much about the mechanics or the production of the game, but I’ve only heard good things about it from the people who tried it at GenCon. And by that, I mean I read like one person’s review, but whatevs; it looks exciting.

It apparently sold out very quickly at GenCon, but we can expect to see this game in stores this September. You can follow the game’s development on their Facebook page. You can pre-order it at Miniature Market. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m looking forward to this. It just might be my next board game purchase.

About Patti Matteucci (265 Articles)
Patti Matteucci plays in an imaginary band in Illinois where she rocks the mic like a vandal while simultaneously cooking MCs like a pound of bacon. She is into most nerdy things but doesn’t excel enough in any to be labeled a nerd. One of her top skillz is scouring the internet for recipes, printing out a big pile, and then throwing them away before ever trying them when she remembers that you can have food made and delivered to your front door by somebody else. She is a 14 year old trapped inside a 33 year old’s body (or maybe also a 14 year old’s body) with an unabashed love for Justin Bieber and far too much time spent marrying celebrities in Sims 3.
