Glee Tribute Episode Will Address Monteith’s Death and Addiction

A few weeks ago, we were all shocked and saddened by the news that Glee star Cory Monteith died at the young age of 31. Autopsy reports showed Monteith was on a combination of heroin and alcohol at the time of his death.

Many were left wondering how or if FOX would approach the circumstances of Monteith and his character Finn on the show.   Yesterday, the network released news that they will be completing a tribute episode to bid farewell to Finn and that Monteith’s addiction related death will be addressed openly.

I for one applaud FOX for facing this topic head on. They have the eyes and ears of so many youth through Glee and if the circumstances surrounding the loss of Monteith can make even one family more aware of the dangers of substance abuse; his death will not be completely in vain.
