Review: Inhumans - Attilan Rising #3
Previously in Inhumans - Attilan Rising #2
Shit got so real.
Black Bolt and his team arrive on New Mars to find Medusa and her people waiting. They refuse to surrender, of course, so she orders them taken by force. Things turn sour quickly as Naja and Mega-Rad are injured to the point that escape seems unlikely.
Back in The Quiet Room, Auran prepares to capture Matt Murdock and the other rebels, but the arrival of Frank McGee and his power to blind put a stop to that. Unfortunately for The Voice Unheard, their access to the Eldrac Network has been destroyed so they’re forced to try and escape via the club’s front door.
On New Mars, Black Bolt sacrifices himself so that Flint, Triton, Naja, and Mega-Rad can get away. With Medusa dead to rights, he instructs her to let his people go and she can take him instead. Flint and the others jump through the portal, but realize almost immediately that their access to The Quiet Room is gone. They’re unsure of where they’re headed next.
Not that it matters: Auran has taken over the entire club and Murdoch, McGee, and Karnak are arrested.
Overall Thoughts:
- I’m still blown away with how gorgeous this book is. Not only are the colors beautiful, the character expressions complement the dialogue well, and the action panels are smooth and easy to follow.
- While it sucks that the good guys (are they the good guys?) seem to be completely defeated, this is when stories get the most interesting. I question whether or not the resistance are the good guys because it’s not as though Medusa knows this world is wrong. She’s following Doom’s orders and he is their god. Now that they’re captured, it will be interesting to learn why they’re rebelling to begin with. What do they know (or think they know) about Battleworld and Doom’s rule?
