Marvel Variant Cover Alert!
Marvel has done a great job with its variant covers in the past year; paying homage to its fans with their cosplay covers and highlighting their love of hip-hop with their album cover variants. Their latest variants will connect Marvel’s past and present with variants done by veteran artists called Classic.
As someone who enjoys a good variant cover, I’m excited for June Brigman’s variant for All New X-Men #4. Brigman used to work on Uncanny X-Men in the 1980s so it’s a nice bit of symmetry. Also the new X-Men titles have focused on female characters so Brigman is a great choice.
Spider-Man 2099 #8 and Power Man & Iron Fist #1 will have variants by Trevor Von Eeden who previously worked on Power Man & Iron Fist in 1979 and Spider Woman in 1980. Pat Broderick who worked on Captain Marvel in 1978 has a variant for Uncanny Inhumans #5. And Mark Bagley who worked on Ultimate Spider-man as well as Amazing Spider-man will be doing a variant for Spider-Man #1. See below for more.
