Matt Smith Out as The Doctor

We all knew it was coming, but it’s still like a punch in the gut: Matt Smith will be leaving Doctor Who after this year’s Christmas special. Rumors had been spinning faster than the TARDIS through time and space, but today BBC has made it official.

While there’s no word yet on who will be the 12th regenerated Doctor, it’s being reported that the Doctor’s current companion, Clara (Jenna Louise Coleman), will be staying on.

We’ll bring you more info on this as it develops.

  1. I’ve always seen Matt Smith as Tennant’s child in a way. He’s a dear face, and I wish him all the best. But the minute I saw his shaved head, I knew it was over.

Here’s hoping he’ll grace us with the occasional comeback!
