National Treasure (2004)
As if there were any sort of doubt, my pick of the month is Marvel’s Daredevil. The MCU’s ultimate goal is to show how their heroes handle threats on a three-prong scale: galactic, worldwide, and street-level. Daredevil, along with Luke Cage, AKA Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, promise to give a street-level look at their superheroes. How this will play in the grand scheme of things is anyone’s guess, but S.H.I.E.L.D. is still hovering around somewhere. I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention National Treasure coming at the end of the month. I accept it is a ridiculous movie from beginning to end, but I love it so much. Trevor Rabin’s score is great, Nicholas Cage hadn’t gone full Nicholas Cage yet, the supporting cast of Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha is another plus, and it’s a rare movie where Sean Bean doesn’t die! How cool is that?
Until next time…
