The obvious pick of the month is The Hurt Locker. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie - two people who would eventually become Avengers, as members of the Army’s Bomb Disposal Unit. This is an unflinching look at what some BDU servicemembers actually go through overseas and back at home. The movie received widespread acclaim and Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Sound Editing. It’s certainly worth your time.
