Orphan Black - S2E9 - Things Which Have Never Yet Been Done
Previously on Orphan Black, ‘Variable and Full of Perturbation’
The penultimate episode of season 2 was full of surprises and really amped up the stakes for tonight’s finale. Here are the highlights:
- Alison and Donnie prepare to hide Dr. Leekie’s body and it goes about as you would expect: Alison takes charge and Donnie is a bumbling mess. They might as well have been plotting out a vegetable garden in their backyard - that’s how matter of fact Alison was about the whole thing. But they weren’t preparing to bury the body in the backyard. That would have been too simple. They decide to break up the foundation in their garage, put his body in it, and then cover it with cement. When Donnie traces a heart in the wet cement, this turns Alison on and they have “dirty” sex. Earlier in the day, after Vic comes sniffing around for Bev and after Donnie threatens him with a gun, Vic admits that she’s in a van outside. Donnie confronts her about her harassment and threatens to bury her if she doesn’t stop fucking around with his family. Go, Donnie!
- Helena is back with the creepy Proletheans and is inseminated with her fertilized eggs. Gracie is as well, and that’s a problem when she confesses that to Helena. Implanted with her daddy’s eggs? Yup. I’d say that’s a problem. In the middle of the night, Helena decides to leave and Gracie is going to join her. When her father busts them trying to leave, he punches Helena and locks up Gracie Mark arrives and lets her out because he loves her. And also because making your daughter carry your own babies is gross. Helena chokes out the creepy dad while Mark and Gracie make a run for it. When creepy dad comes to, he’s strapped to a table, legs in stirrups, and Helena injects him up the ass with all kinds of animal sperm. She then burns the whole place down. I love her.
- Rachel puts Delphine in charge now that Dr. Leekie is gone. They manage to convince Sarah to bring Kira in for the transplant as it’s the only way to save Cosima. Later, Rachel watches home movies of herself with her parents when she was a little girl and then stares at photos of Sarah with Kira. She then uses Delphine’s office and computer and leaves open a screen displaying that Benjamin works for her. Delphine warns Sarah that Benjamin has been compromised. Sarah rushes to Kira’s recovery room to get her daughter out of there, but it turns out it’s really Rachel. She set Benjamin up as a distraction and now she has Kira.
