Outsiders - S2E10 - Stranger in a Strange Land

Previously on Outsiders, “Loyal to the Bone”

Haylie Grimes is shown the humanity of Shay Mountain: there are children playing and attending classes, family preparing meals and washing clothes. She’s so surprised by the order that she asks to take a picture. But then she’s shown the poisoned spring and the family mourning Silas; she insists One Planet had nothing to do with it. Haylie seems genuinely surprised and repulsed, but that doesn’t stop G’win from demanding she spend the night in the cage.

The next night, still in the cage, Haylie is attacked by some of the clan who wish to see her drink the contaminated water as G’Win promised she would. G’Win manages to talk the clan down, and later shares some Farrell wine with Haylie, who warns that they’ll never be able to beat One Planet. Later that night, Haylie hallucinates and wakes up at the bottom of the mountain with two jars of the contaminated water to take home.

How Haylie plays this will be interesting. While looking into her disappearance, Wade learns that Haylie spent time with Gordon and he mentions this to Matt. Matt is already trying to distance himself from the info leak and this might be enough to convince One Nation that Haylie gave him the email on purpose.

Meanwhile, Hasil and Sally Ann’s fortune turns when she gets a job interview. She’s happy to make money if it means Hasil doesn’t have to fight anymore. Butch guilts Hasil into fighting anyway, but Sally Ann isn’t stupid. She shows up at the venue and renegotiates their arrangement with Butch: They’ll pay people to be lookouts to make sure Hasil isn’t arrested during a fight club raid and Butch will not sell pot while they’re working.

With Sally Ann literally in his corner, Hasil takes on his toughest opponent yet, and wins thanks to the love of a good black woman. I’ve been telling y’all for years: it will cure what ails you. This is a nice win when the couple has so desperately needed one, but now that this arrangement interferes with Butch’s side hustle, I can’t see it ending well.

Other Tales From the Mountain

Lil Foster makes plan to build a home away from the clan, but those plans will most likely change now that his new boo let it slip that G’Win is pregnant with his baby. Speaking of that, Big Foster confronts G’Win about the baby and offers to raise it with her. We all know Lil Foster is not about to let that happen.
