Ryan Murphy Reveals American Horror Story: Freak Show’s Opening Title Sequence

As the world tries its best to prepare itself for the upcoming season of American Horror Story, subtitled Freak Show, Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to let everyone know that there is no possible way we could ever really be fully prepared for what he and the AHS team have in store for us.

Ahead of next week’s season premiere, American Horror Story: Freak Show has been doing everything short of standing on a street corner, barking information at passersby, and handing out fliers; all to make sure everyone knows just enough to be curious, but too little to be spoiled… or scared away. Murphy, the show’s co-creator with Brad Falchuk, is doing his part with the release of this title sequence.

They’re one part Harryhausen, two parts Burton, and 100% creepy as fuck, in all their macabre, stop-motion glory. Many thought the series’ previous season, American Horror Story: Coven, lacked some of the fear-inducing moments of Murder House and Asylum before it, so lest those fans be left wanting again, Freak Show seems to aim for nonstop, skincrawling freakiness.

American Horror Story: Freak Show features returning stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange, and more; joined by the likes of Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley, and the fantastic John Carroll Lynch, as well as Naomi Grossman, reprising her role as Asylum fan-favorite character Pepper. The fourth season-long installment in FX’s anthology series premieres October 8, 2014, and we will be right there along with it, as Podcast Fandom takes up the task of covering the new season, each and every week.
