Scariest Movie of All Time: The Exorcist vs. The Omen

It’s October, and that means it’s time to grab some popcorn, turn out the lights, curl up on the couch, and frighten the hell out of yourself with a horror film. What should you watch, though? What will yield the most scare/minute? Well, we don’t know, either, and that’s why our October also means it’s time for another tournament! This one will let you determine The Scariest Movie of All Time (within our pre-selected list of 16 films; we don’t have forever here).

We’ve split the films into decade-based regions: ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s; we’ve also seeded them based on input from our contributors. The first matchup comes from the ’70s region and pits 1-seed The Exorcist vs. 4-seed The Omen. It’s a tough choice between a scary kid and… a scary kid, but don’t get your head all spun out of whack about it; they’re all going to be tough choices.
