I first met Cindy Moon (Silk) in Spider-Verse, and I was fascinated by her story and her connection to Peter Parker. I decided to follow her to her own series, and wasn’t disappointed. I loved seeing how her complex past affected her here and now. The search for her family served as an emotional anchor, which ensured I’d return with every issue. There were some detours (Secret Wars, Spider-Women, and Civil War II), but in the most recent two issues (including this one), Cindy was finally reunited with her entire family. This seems like a good point for me to stop reviewing the series.

We learn what happened to her parents and how they made it out of the Negative Zone as Cindy relays the events to her therapist. Her parents were seeking a cure for her abilities with the hopes of releasing her from the bunker and freeing her from a life on the run from The Inheritors. In the end, they didn’t find anything and ended up trapped in the Negative Zone, fighting for their lives.

Cindy is able to prepare them for what Albert went through while they were gone. There’s a lot of guilt on all sides, but especially from their parents who feel they should have handled Cindy’s situation differently. They’re given an apartment courtesy of S.H.I.E.L.D., and seem to be well on their way to a happy ending. Except Cindy’s father may have brought something back from the Negative Zone after all.
