Terminator Genisys Official Trailer

The cast photos for Terminator Genisys that debuted in Entertainment Weekly a few weeks ago were pretty ridiculous - especially the ones with the actors holding weapons and screaming at nothing.

Many were skeptical, but with this first official trailer, I’m convinced Terminator: Genisys will be more T2 than Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines  a.k.a. The One I Pretend Doesn’t Exist.

On the surface, the story in Genisys is the same: John Connor (Jason Clarke) sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to protect his mother Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) from the terminator sent to kill her. The reboot goes a step further, though, and when Kyle finds Sarah, she’s not the scared innocent portrayed in the original Terminator. That timeline no longer exists and Sarah has already worked with the terminator to get rid of the threat. Now, Kyle must work with them both against a very T-1000 looking terminator. Oh, and a lot of stuff gets blown up.

I am here for this, folks. My only complaint: Where the hell is Matt Smith?
