The Magicians - S1E10 - Homecoming
Previously on The Magicians, ‘The Writing Room’
Penny spends most of the episode in the Neitherlands, the place between all of the places (as the head of the Welcome Wagon, Eve, explains). The Neitherlands is devoid of almost all its color with lots of fog simmering above the ground. Even though it’s filled with fountains to other worlds, Penny’s sense of direction is all out of wonk so his only means for escape is invading one of Quentin’s x-rated nerd sex dreams to ask for help. While he dips and dodges the inhabitants of the Neitherlands out to either kill him or take his magic button (not a euphemism), Alice and Quentin turn to her parents for help.
In the six weeks that have passed since last episode (Yes, Penny has been gone for that long though it feels like 6 hours to him), Julia has been meeting with an online group called The Free Traders. Their first official meet-up (at Julia’s) reveals Kady is a part of the group. The two clear the air over the events of Kady’s mother’s death, and after an intense magical session discover that they’ve traveled back in time. It appears Richard has gathered the Free Traders to perfect the magic necessary to go back in time and stop him from causing his child’s death. Told y’all Richard was shady AF.
Margo becomes the owner of her very own golem clone after discovering a lover was siphoning her life force by keeping it for his sex slave. I hope this new addition comes in handy with the overall story or else it feels like a complete waste of time.
In the end, Quentin and Alice have to engage in sex magic (and reaching orgasms at the same time) to bring Penny back. They do it, but in getting there, Quentin learns he wasn’t as sexually satisfying as he thought. And no one was really surprised by this, right?
