The Veronica Mars Movie Now Has a Release Date
Marshmallows have another reason to rejoice, now that we know exactly how far we are from finally seeing the return of Veronica Mars. The film, titled Veronica Mars (of course), will be released on the one-year (and one day) anniversary of Rob Thomas’ Kickstarter campaign which partially funded the film: March 14, 2014.
We knew it would be early next year, but now, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator of Veronica Mars Rob Thomas revealed the indie-film-that-could will not only hit theaters March 14, but that Warner Bros. had wanted to schedule the film near the Kickstarter anniversary:
Warner Bros. had this date circled for quite some time and hoped it would stay open. Luckily, no other teen detective movie decided to open in the middle of March.
Along with the interview, EW also shared an exclusive clip (which you will have to visit their article to view). In it, we see Veronica’s entrance to her 10-year high school reunion (which she compares to Dante’s Inferno), and the return of that trademark dry snark we all love so much.
Veronica Mars, the film, sees Veronica (Kristen Bell) return to Neptune, California, for both her 10-year reunion and to take on a case for Logan (Jason Dohring), who has been accused of murder. The film is not only a reunion of the class, and a reunion of us with the show, but also a reunion of the original cast who are back in all their glory. We can’t wait for March 14, 2014, to get here.
