Happy 20th Anniversary, Toy Story! BTW, Here’s Another Movie!
Yes, you read that correctly… Pixar is dusting off the playthings that launched their spectacular rise in animation and have a third sequel of Toy Story in early production!
John Lasseter - along with Galyn Susman (Toy Story of Terror) and Josh Cooley (Ratatouille, Cars 2) - disclosed to the perpetually excited D23 Expo attendees that he would return as director of Toy Story 4. Everyone remained mum about plot details however Lasseter let it be known that it would be a love story about Woody and Bo Peep! Furthermore, Toy Story 4 will be co-written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones (Celeste & Jesse Forever).
As a special surprise in celebration of Toy Story’s anniversary, songwriting legend Randy Newman took to the stage and played “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”, ending an unbelievable presentation of Disney’s latest slate of feature animation.
Toy Story 4 is set to be released on June 16 2017! Don’t worry, fellow ProFans… I’m certain we’ll get a smattering of morsels from Lasseter and company about the film as time progresses.
