BluTuesday - November 15, 2016

What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from planning my Thanksgiving travels to bring you the latest releases to home media for November 15, 2016. In this week’s episode, we discuss fish, lawyers, sports docs, and #DemThrones. Let’s get right to it.

Finding Dory (PG)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 94%

Thirteen years after Finding Nemo warmed our hearts, we return to the depths in this sequel featuring everyone’s favorite forgetful fish Dory (Ellen DeGeneres). In this film, Dory is setting off to find her long lost family, but this proves to be difficult with her memory loss issues. But, along the way, she begins to find out what the true meaning of family really is. This film, which also stars Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, and Kaitlin Olson, is available in a single disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, a single disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD version. Much like the original, Finding Dory captivates the hearts and minds of everyone watching, and it is a fitting sequel to a cinematic classic.

Better Call Saul: The Complete Second Season

Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) is back, and he’s inching ever so closer to becoming the eponymous Saul in season two of this AMC series. Jimmy is growing closer to his confidant Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn), but his relationship with his brother Chuck (Michael McKean) is getting more difficult. As Jimmy begins his march towards “it’s all good man,” he’s faced with challenges that foreshadow his future. This series, which also stars Jonathan Banks, Michael Mando, and Ed Begley, Jr., is available in a three disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version and a three disc DVD version. This return to the Breaking Bad universe is satisfying for any Breaking Bad fan, and it shouldn’t be missed. Give it a watch.

ESPN 30 for 30: Season Two

Throughout its inception, ESPN has been known as a sports network. This is well-earned, as they essentially show sports 24-7, be it in actual games, sports highlights, or talk shows centered around individual sports themselves. However, they’ve branched out into the documentary realm, and very few have been as entertaining as their 30 for 30 series of docs. Season two of this acclaimed series takes a look at such events as the clash of violence at integration versus pride at an undefeated season for the 1962 Ole Miss football team, the first round of the acclaimed 1983 NFL Draft, the saga of Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, and many more. This documentary series is available in a 10 disc Blu-ray version. I highly recommend this series, not only for the sports connection, but for fans of documentaries as a whole.

Game of Thrones: The Complete Sixth Season

Return to Westeros for the sixth season of this award winning HBO drama. With the fates of Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) hanging in the balance, the people of Westeros and Essos march forward to a new and unknown future. Meanwhile, alliances are forged while new threats show their face to shift the balance of power in their favor. This series, which also stars Nathalie Emmanuel, Peter Dinklage, and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau, is available in a four disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version and a five disc DVD version. This series has shown no signs of slowing down since its inception; in fact, it’s only gotten stronger. This is definitely a show you should watch.

That’s all I’ve got for this week. Got any questions or comments? Did I miss something you wanted to discuss? Feel free to hit me up in the comments section below.

Until next time…
