BluTuesday - December 29, 2015

What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from packing for my annual holiday trip home to bring you the latest releases to home media for December 29, 2015. In this week’s episode, we discuss dysfunctional families and enforcers. This is a light one, but it’s no less important, so let’s just get right to it.

Shameless: The Complete Fifth Season

The Gallaghers are back to give the Bluth family a run for their money. Fiona (Emily Rossum) just got married, but she’s crushing over her new boss (Dermot Mulroney) and her ex-boyfriend (Justin Chatwin). Frank (William H. Macy) just got a liver transplant, but he still has a taste for the drugs and booze. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is juggling his new college life with his old life and friends from the South Side of Chicago, Debbie (Emma Kenney) is experiencing her first love, and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) is having health issues of his own. Plus, gentrification is rearing its head and leaving everyone at a crossroads. This series, which also stars Steve Kazee, Ethan Cutkosky, and Noel Fisher, is available in both a two disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy version and a three disc DVD version. This series never ceases to entertain, and I highly recommend checking this out.

Ray Donovan: Season Three

The third season of Showtime’s hit show has the eponymous character back to his old tricks. Ray (Liev Schreiber) is mourning the loss of a close friend, his wife Abbie (Paula Malcomson) is at wits end with their marriage, and his father Mickey (Jon Voight) is plotting to take over a prostitution ring with a hooker named Ginger (Faiurza Balk). Meanwhile, Ray still has a job to do as one of L.A.’s best fixers, and he’s damn good at what he does. All of this drama is just another day at the office for him, but will it finally get the best of him? This series, which also stars Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, and Katie Holmes, is available in a three disc Blu-ray version and a four disc DVD version. This has always been an electrifying series, and this one is no exception. An electrifying cast and a great story grants this series my pick of the week. Don’t miss out!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for this week. Got any questions or comments? Did I miss something you wanted to discuss? Please feel free to hit me up in the comments section below. On behalf of all of us at Project Fandom, I’d like to wish all of you a Happy New Year, and a prosperous 2016.

Until next time…
