BluTuesday - September 2, 2014

What’s up, ProFans? Joseph here, and I’m taking a break from scattering the ashes on my fantasy football team to bring you the latest releases in home media for September 2, 2014. In this week’s episode, we discuss the sexiest hospital ever, surveillance used for the power of good, THE Manic Pixie Dream Girl, and vampires in the Crescent City. All comfy? Let’s get to it.

Grey’s Anatomy: Season 10

Wait…this show is still on? Wow! Okay, this season has it all; mudslides, broken marriages, the juggling of careers and parenthood, and friends turning into enemies. The crew also bids farewell to one of their own as she heads off to greener pastures. This Shonda Rhimes-led series is only available in a six disc DVD version, and if steamy hospital drama is your thing, then this is the show for you. Also, due to enjoying what I do, this series is my pick of the week. Yeah, I said it.

Person of Interest: Season 3

Starring Michael Emerson (“Lost“) and Jim Caviezel (Frequency), Person of Interest continues the story of the tech genius Finch (Emerson) and the former CIA operative Reese (Caviezel) as they use The Machine to stop crimes and keep us all safe. The team also suffers a tragic loss and has to move on with a new partner. This series, also starring Taraji P. Henson and Sarah Shahi, is available in a ten disc Bluray/DVD + Digital Copy version and a six disc DVD version. It’s a CBS show, so you know what you’re getting with it. If you like CBS shows, then you’ll like this one, too.

New Girl: Season 3

Zooey Deschanel brings her ever-present Manic Pixie Dream Girl tendencies to the third season of this inexplicably popular show. Jess and Nick cement their relationship while dealing with the new drama of dating and living together, Schmidt runs into trouble as his two-timing ways gets too tough to juggle, Winston falls in love…with a house cat, and Winston returns! This series, also starring Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans, Jr., is only available in a three disc DVD version. This show is wildly popular, and this may be a good time to see why.

The Originals: Season 1

What’s better than regular vampires and werewolves? Vampires and werewolves in New Orleans, of course! This spinoff from The Vampire Diaries features Niklaus “Klaus” Mikaelson and his siblings Elijah and Rebekah as they fight to reclaim the French Quarter as their own. The series also pits the trio against a coven of witches who want to reclaim their power, and a blast from Klaus’ past. This series is available in both a nine disc Bluray/DVD + Digital Copy version and a single disc DVD version. If you like sexy vampires that don’t sparkle, you can’t go wrong with this.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for this week. Got any questions or comments? Did I miss something you wanted to discuss? Feel free to hit me up in the comments section below.

Until next time…
