Disney Rewards Fans With Exclusives for The Force Awakens

Not long from now, in a theater very, very near…

In approximately 45 days (!!!), the majority of the world will lose their ever-loving minds as the seventh film in the beloved Star Wars franchise is finally projected in all its glory.

Happy tears. So. Many. Happy tears. If I had a tail, I’d wiggle it harder than Jabba gasping for air!

Anyway, before The Force Awakens overwhelms our senses with a visual and emotional maelstrom so powerful that we’re all revert to quivering puddles in our seats, Disney’s official fan club D23 will stoke that fire inside you just a bit more with the quarterly release of their magazine circulated only for their Gold members.

Disney’s in-house publication - Disney Twenty-Three - will showcase exclusive insights and interviews about Star Wars: The Force Awakens in their Winter issue, to be released mid-November.

As announced via press release:

To celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Disney twenty-three unlocks the power of the force to give fans a look behind the making of the newest installment in the Star Wars saga. The issue opens with “guest editor” C-3PO admitting he is unfamiliar with D23: The Official Disney Fan Club(“…although I am very familiar with the R2 series of droid, I am less familiar with the D23 line. Would it be R2-D23?”) and continues with candid interviews with the original Star Wars leads—Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford—looking back (and ahead) at the ongoing strength of these out-of-this-world films.

Director J.J. Abrams—whose long-standing history with Disney goes back to the TV show Felicity—sits down for a revealing Q&A, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy talks about inheriting one of the most beloved franchises of all time. Plus, Imagineer Scott Trowbridge gives fans a peek at what’s in store for guests at the parks, following Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger’s announcement at D23 EXPO 2015 of Star Wars-themed lands coming to Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Additionally, ALL D23 members - general and gold - have the fantastic opportunity to witness the highly anticipated space epic that’ll flash across the big screen beginning December 18. Members may view contemporary cinema history at the illustrious El Capitan Theater in Hollywood CA. From December 21 to February 7, fans may receive VIP admittance for $28 per ticket; included with the purchase is reserved seating, a souvenir popcorn tub, 20oz beverage and comic book - Vader Down - exclusive to attendees.
