America #8

Previously in America #7

America is very much looking forward to a fresh start. As the new semester at Sotomayer University begins, America is moving in with David (a.k.a Prodigy), X’andria is running for student body president, and America is able to clear the air with Professor Douglas. The teacher promises to never again withhold information from America, even if she thinks it’s to protect her.

Of course, this respite from punching and kicking things is quickly interrupted when more the school is attacked. With the threat handled, it’s determined that someone from the inside must have tampered with Sotomayer’s security measures so the enemies could teleport inside. The new Dead of Students, Dr. Billie Brightly, puts the school under curfew and outlaws using portals within the grounds.

America promptly breaks these rules to search for Professor Douglas, who hasn’t been seen since the attack. This is exactly what Brightly wanted because she’s the Exterminatrix in disguise. She uses America’s disobedience to sow discord between her and her friends. Surely someone who claims to care about the school’s safety wouldn’t put everyone at risk to be a hero?

America is detained by the school’s security, and it feels like only the first step in whatever the Exterminatrix has planned.
