Howdy, ProFans! Joseph here, and I’m taking a break from admiring my Christmas tree to bring you the latest in home releases for December 3, 2013. In this week’s episode, we talk about the man with the indestructible bones, mystical love triangles, Hank Azaria, and the Three Doctors. Got your eggnog handy? Well, have a sip and let’s get down to brass tacks.
The Wolverine - Unleashed Extended Edition

Hugh Jackman returns as The Wolverine and faces his ultimate nemesis in an action packed life-or-death battle that takes him to modern day Japan. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his limits, Logan confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality; an epic fight that will leave him forever changed. This movie comes in a four disc Bluray 3D/Bluray/DVD + Digital Copy version, a two disc Bluray/DVD + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD version. I can’t give a comment on this movie, because I never saw it. However, I’ve heard mixed reviews. I’ll say this much for it, though; ANYTHING has to be better than the debacle known as X-Men Origins: Wolverine…right?
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (PG-13)

Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series. This movie comes in both a two disc Bluray/DVD + Digital Copy version and a single disc DVD version. Once again, this is a movie I never saw, but it’s also a movie I never had any intention on seeing. If you’ve read the books and are even remotely interested in checking it out, have at it. Otherwise, keep on truckin’.
The Smurfs 2 - 3D (PG)

Evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria) creates Hackus and Vexy, a pair of mischievous Smurf‑like creatures, hoping they will let him harness the magical Smurf‑essence. However, he soon discovers that he needs the help of Smurfette, who knows the secret to turning the pair into real Smurfs. When Gargamel, Hackus and Vexy kidnap Smurfette from Smurf Village and bring her to Paris, it’s up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy and Vanity to reunite with their human friends, Patrick (Neil Patrick Harris)and Grace Winslow (Jayma Mays), to rescue her. This movie comes in a three disc Bluray 3D/Bluray/DVD version, a two disc Bluray/DVD + Digital Copy version, a single disc Bluray version and a single disc DVD version. If you have small children who enjoyed the movie, then this is the perfect Christmas gift from you.
Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited 9-11
In this triumphant 50th Anniversary year for Doctor Who, we complete our celebration of the extraordinary actors who have starred as the Doctor with this look at three exceptionally gifted performers, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith. We at Project Fandom love anything from the BBC, and we especially love Doctor Who, so I think it goes without saying what my pick of the week is.
