BluTuesday - January 17, 2017

What’s going on, ProFans? I’m taking a break from battling the flu to bring you the latest titles coming to home media for January 17, 2017. In this week’s episode, we discuss an awkward spy movie, nosy people, and zombies. Let’s get started.

Keeping Up with the Jonses (PG-13)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 19%

Jeff and Karen Gaffney (Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher) are your regular run of the mill suburban family: nice jobs, two kids, and a house in a cul-de-sac. But, when they discover Tim and Nataline Jones (Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot) are actually spies, their world is turned upside down. Hilarity and espionage ensue. This film, which also stars Matt Walsh, Maribeth Monroe, and Patton Oswalt, is available in a two disc 4K UltraHD/Blu-ray + Digital Copy version, a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD + Digital Copy version. Well…this is a movie that existed, and now it’s coming to home media. If you like action comedies, then this is the movie for you.

The Girl on the Train (R)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 43%

Rachel (Emily Blunt) is a recently divorced mess of a woman. She’s constantly drinking, her personal life is in tatters, and she fantasizes about a couple who lives in a house she passes on the train every day. But, when she sees something horrible happen there, she finds herself sucked in to the mystery and intrigue therein. This film, which also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, and Justin Theroux, is available in a two disc 4K UltraHD/Blu-ray + Digital Copy version, a two disc Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy version, and a single disc DVD version. This is an intense movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Check it out.

Train to Busan (NR)
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 96%

It was supposed to be an ordinary train ride. A bunch of passengers hopped on the eponymous train to go to a southern resort, but they ended up going through a zombie horde instead. The passengers fight for survival in hopes that Busan is still standing and is still a safe haven from the outbreak. This film, which stars  Yoo Gong, Yumi Jung, and Dong-seok Ma, is available in a single disc Blu-ray version and a single disc DVD version. Everything I’ve heard about this movie is great, and I hope y’all like it, because I don’t do horror.

That’s all I’ve got for this week. Got any questions or comments? Did I miss something you wanted to discuss? Feel free to hit me up in the comments section below.

Until next time…
