More Heroes Emerge in Adi Shankar’s Gods and Secrets
Despite the rising tide of superhero films and television shows coming to screens in late 2015 and throughout 2016, a number of studios continue to seek the next unique superhero property. One such project is the dark drama Adi Shankar’s Gods and Secrets, recently acquired by HBO.
Known chiefly for the ‘bootleg’ short films Dirty Laundry, Venom: Truth in Journalism and Power/Rangers, Shankar - along with Stewart Yost - will make their directorial debuts with Gods and Secrets and have quickly assembled an eclectic cast to bring their vision to life. Although original creations, the characters may resemble a few notable heroes solely due to their powers. Previous announcements have revealed the main cast and their monikers.
Diamond Dallas Page (Devil’s Rejects, Driftwood, WWE Legend) as KNIGHT HAWK
Jackson Rathbone (Twilight Saga, The Last Airbender) as BLUE SCREAM
Kellan Lutz (The Legend of Hercules, Immortals, Twilight Saga) as KING TSUNAMI
Sharni Vinson (You’re Next, Step Up 3D, Home and Away) as THE SPEED
Denise Richards (Wild Things, Starship Troopers, Twisted) as LAURA LANG
Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Wedding Crashers, Live and Let Die) as ADDISON WALKER
Today, Breaking Bad’s RJ Mitte has been cast as Mind Master. Additionally, Max Adler (Glee) signed on to the series in an undisclosed role. Adler is also attached as an associate producer.
