George R.R. Martin Confirms Major Role Cast on Game of Thrones

Filming has already begun on Game of Thrones fourth season and casting news has been coming fast and furious over the past few weeks. Now we can add another bit of news to the fray with GRRM himself confirming that the role of Mace Tyrell has been filled. He’ll be played by character Roger Ashton-Griffiths, who you may recall from Gangs of New York, The Tudors, and Brothers Grimm.

Mace is father to Margaery and Loras, and son to Lady Olenna, the Queen of Thorns. Non book readers have probably already figured out that Mace Tyrell will be headed to King’s Landing for the upcoming royal wedding.

What do you think of this casting, ProFans?

  1. I have still not watched a single episode ( we do not have HBO) or read any book in this series ( no excuses for this one). I will be checking out book 1 this week and getting started. I have a feeling that once I read this series I am going to be pretty pissed that I do not have HBO
