Tony Stark is Your Wheelin’ Dealin’, Globetrotting, International Iron Man

Arriving early 2016, Brian Michael Bendis (Invincible Iron Man, Daredevil, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Alex Maleev (Daredevil, Moon Knight) collaborate once more to elevate ol’ Shellhead’s game on a global level for the All New All Different Marvel with International Iron Man!

No other hero within the Marvel pantheon is more qualified and experienced in dealing with the defense of the world than Iron Man. With the world becoming increasingly smaller and all-encompassing due to the continual advances in technology, Stark has the means and motivation to be the Golden Avenger for all.

“We can all reach out to each other no matter where we are in the world. We feel each other’s pains and victories. I think for Tony it’s like that times 100. He’s much more aware of the global situation and how a big fight with Galactus in New York would affect things in other parts of the world.”

Now that the universe is restored, Tony is motivated more than ever to maintain the security of the planet and safety of all its inhabitants. Handling such a monumental task will require a team effort and some associates won’t exactly have the most sterling of reputations - as evidenced by his tenuous alliance with Victor Von Doom. These new affiliations are necessary for Earth’s survival, as friend and foe may combine talents and cast aside archaic dogma for the future.

“That’s one of my favorite things about Tony. He’s a futurist who can close his eyes and see the future and see what the world will need from him and try to make that happen” says Bendis. “It’s very different than other superheroes. A lot of superheroes are all reaction. The villain does something and they react. But there’s something different with Tony, and that’s one of his struggles. He can close his eyes and see different version of the future that he may be able to help with, and maybe proactively do something to make that happen. It’s such a noble effort, but it’s so frustrating, because he can’t control all the variables.”

With the entire world now under his surveillance and protection, Stark will be forced to acclimate quickly to the countless pleas of the defenseless. Not to mention he’ll confront a handful of obscure Marvel villains that prefer to work from within the shadows rather than battle it out on the streets of New York. “We’ll be dealing with some of the criminals in the Marvel Universe who are smart enough to put that together in their head finally” Bendis explains. “Tony’s gonna be racing to help people that don’t necessarily always get the attention of the Marvel superheroes.”

To match Stark’s modern global flair, Marvel will release International Iron Man with the ambitious enterprise of releasing the series in 25 languages, and print for over 40 countries in English. Ready yourselves for some high-flying intercontinental adventures in early 2016!
