Kickstarter Spotlight: November

Norsgard is a skirmish game for two or more players. It takes place in Isbran, the world of eternal winter. Basically, each player takes control of a small band of warriors of which you control all aspects. You gain experience by winning campaigns, and you use that experience to increase your army and unlock powerful magics. I’ve never played Warhammer, but it looks sort of Warhammer-ish to me. Maybe it’s not. I don’t know, but the game sounds interesting, and the miniatures look awesome. The goal is surprisingly low, so it has already been reached.

DragonFlame is a 2-5 player card game. In this game, players take turns stocking up their castles with riches and knights and princesses and such. At the end of each round, players use their dragons to attack other castles. Successful attacks earn you glory points, and the player with the most glory wins. Each game runs about 30 minutes; I like that. Every game night needs some short filler games. You can actually print and play a free game right now. I’d do so, if I had a printer.

Bring Out Yer Dead is another simple game for 2 to 5. The objective of the game is to make sure your family gets the best resting place in the new cemetery in town. I read mention of grave robbing and grave swapping… this game sounds fun. If you pledge $300, you’ll get the coffin-shaped game case, which is pretty cool. Ya know, if you’ve got $300 to spare.

Mind - The Fall of Paradise is a sci-fi board game for up to 4 players. One player becomes MIND, an omnipotent A.I., while the rest of the players are rebel leaders. There are 14 districts at war with each other, and they are gradually defeated and removed from the game. The game sounds a little complex, but it seems like the objective is to colonize the solar system to make sure that mankind does not die once all the districts are destroyed. I don’t know how far along it is, ‘cause I don’t understand foreign money. Is it in galleons? I don’t know. But anyway, it looks like a potentially fun game.

About Patti Matteucci (265 Articles)
Patti Matteucci plays in an imaginary band in Illinois where she rocks the mic like a vandal while simultaneously cooking MCs like a pound of bacon. She is into most nerdy things but doesn’t excel enough in any to be labeled a nerd. One of her top skillz is scouring the internet for recipes, printing out a big pile, and then throwing them away before ever trying them when she remembers that you can have food made and delivered to your front door by somebody else. She is a 14 year old trapped inside a 33 year old’s body (or maybe also a 14 year old’s body) with an unabashed love for Justin Bieber and far too much time spent marrying celebrities in Sims 3.
