Marvel’s Inhumans - S1E7 - Havoc in the Hidden Land

Previously on Marvel’s Inhumans, “The Gentleman’s Name is Gorgon”

Well, this are getting interesting and it’s a shame because the smart money says this show won’t be renewed for a second season.

Thanks to grief, the reveal of secrets, and just overall fatigue, the royal family is at odds as they prepare to go home. Black Bolt sends Maximus a message in the form of Auran’s dead body. Seeing as how she regenerates, this lacks sting, but it still enrages Medusa. Crystal and Lockjaw deliver the message and a request for a parley; Maximus agrees.

Medusa pleads with Black Bolt to abandon the scorched earth option, but he insists that if Maximus won’t agree to their terms, he’ll kill his brother. Just when Medusa thought her husband couldn’t piss her off more, he’s all “hold my beer as we travel to another part of the island so we can all be reunited with Triton, who’s not dead… and I knew about that all along.” Lockjaw transports them all home to the royal bunker… that Medusa didn’t know existed. Oh, Black Bolt. Marriage: You’re doing it wrong.

By the time the parley takes place, Auran is disillusioned with Maximus as their leader as it’s now blatantly clear all he wants is to become Inhuman. And that’s exactly what Black Bolt offers. They’ll let him take Declan and continue his work on creating a second terrigenesis and he’ll return the throne. Maximus agrees until he has Declan and then immediately declines. The rules of the parley state Black Bolt can’t beat his brother’s ass then and there.

Good thing Black Bolt has a backup plan that involves Triton kidnapping Maximus before he can go through Declan’s process. Triton proceeds to beat the brakes off Maximus before depositing him in the bunker, where Black Bolt is ready to take his turn until Maximus reveals that the fate of Attilan is tied to his. If he dies, the city does as well.

Meanwhile, Karnak prepares to use Declan’s research and Auran’s DNA to put Gorgon’s body through a second terrigenesis in the hopes that it will bring him back to life. It doesn’t appear to work, and Auran and Karnak have to flee when all hell breaks loose. But Gorgon does rise during the chaos and he’s alone with Declan, who just declared he’s a guest of Maximus. Considering how angry Gorgon looks, Declan maybe shouldn’t have lead with that.

Crystal just moped over Dave… a guy she knew for 24 hours.
