Ms. Marvel (2015) #22

Previously in Ms. Marvel #21

Mecca comes to an end after Kamala tries to convince Josh he’s better than being Discord. Lockdown recruited him when he was vulnerable and he’s been making misguided decisions ever since. Their heart-to-heart is interrupted as Lockdown closes in. Josh doesn’t fully embrace his good side, but he does allow for a beaten and tired Kamala to escape.

Meanwhile, Nakia and Tyesha lead the community in freeing the citizens being unjustly held in the mosque. Their efforts are aided by the return of Marchesi, who reassumes her role as mayor.

Kamala finally goes up against Lockdown for the last time. She neutralizes her, but Kamala is left wondering if she ever really knew her city and the people in it. She also questions her — and Ms. Marvel’s — role in it.
