Podcast Fandom Episode 43: Wizard World Portland Comic Con 2014

This weekend I attended the Wizard World Portland Comic Con 2014 as press for Project Fandom. While it was exhausting - seriously, there’s so much to see and do - it was one of the best experiences of my life. The highlights were meeting Norman Reedus (Daryl, The Walking Dead) and Michael Rooker (Merle,The Walking Dead), attending a Q&A panel with Stan Lee, and just knowing I was in the same room and breathing the same air as William Shatner. I came away from the weekend with a whole new appreciation for artists (actors, writers, etc.) who attend these conventions on a regular basis. It also reaffirmed my decision to turn this site into a place for people to fangirl or fanboy over all the pop culture things that make them flip out completely and without embarrassment.

If you have an opportunity to attend a Wizard World Con, you should. I was very impressed with the caliber of stars who were in attendance and the organization it took to pull this weekend off was no small feat. Everyone, staff and volunteers, were friendly and professional.

Have a listen to our podcast where I share my experience with John and Meghan. I talk about the panels with Burt Ward and Adam West (Batman), Laurie Holden and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), Stan Lee (Stan Motherfucking Lee!), and Michael Rooker who, I discovered this weekend, is my spirit animal.

After the jump, check out the gallery of photos from an amazing weekend.
