5. Creed
4. Sicario
3. Mad Max: Fury Road
2. Inside Out
1. The Revenant: This grim western hasn’t been released nationwide yet, but when it is, be damn certain to see it. The Revenant features Leonardo DiCaprio’s greatest performance yet, as a man who seeks vengeance on a crew - led by Tom Hardy - that left him in the wilderness to die. It is as beautiful as it is brutal, thanks to the dark vision of director Alejandro González Iñárritu.

5. Mad Max: Fury Road

4.Jurassic World - A great popcorn movie with the always charming Chris Pratt. You can’t ask for more.

3.Ant-Man - Paul Rudd and an adorably funny Michael Peña, enough said.

2.Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - Ethan Hunt is too old for this shit. He never says it, but his actions speak to him reaching the Murtaugh stage of this espionage game. A revised narrative and creative action sequences helped make this a top five contender.

1.Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 - The best and final chapter of the book turned series. In a questionable move made by the studio, the third book was split into two films. The death of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who had a key role in the third and fourth movies, could have adversely impacted the storytelling, but the tasteful use of existing footage and the power of CGI made for a seamless transition in this finale. The best of the four movies, Mockingjay Part 2 was a must-see for 2015.

5. Ex Machina

4. Mad Max: Fury Road

3. The Martian

2. Inside Out

1. Spotlight: This movie is infuriating in all the best ways; it is enrapturing, and it is inspiring. Mark Ruffalo stands out among a cast that turns in fantastic performances from top to bottom, and Tom McCarthy’s direction subtly creates an uncomfortably intimate, yet stunningly recognizable, world.

3.Avengers: Age of Ultron

2. Creed

1.Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Duh.

5. Trainwreck

4. Avengers: Age of Ultron

3. Ant-Man

2. Jurassic World

1. Creed -  It’s probably a tie between this and Jurassic World primarily because of its homage to the originals (Rocky, Jurassic Park), but where Jurassic World is just all out fun (for me), Creed had me in my feels and it actually got dusty in the theater.
