Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Our First Look!
I have a bad feeling about this…
Directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla”, “Monsters”) and written by Chris Weitz - based on a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story chronicles the exploits of one of the earliest cells of the Rebellion. This eclectic crew of battle-hardened freedom fighters is given the unenviable task of stealing the plans of the Death Star from the Galactic Empire. If one recalls how much difficulty (i.e. a steep death count) the Bothans had while retrieving intel on the second Death Star, this mission is hundreds of thousands of light years from being considered a cakewalk.

Touted as the first Star Wars film without any Jedi, Edwards wants Rogue One to focus on the initial struggles in building a resistance force and feature the true reason for the future success of the Rebellion: the countless troops that ceaselessly fought with nothing but their ingenuity and sheer will. While a handful of heroes received most of the credit for the Empire’s collapse, there were thousands before them who sacrificed everything to liberate an entire galaxy from a totalitarian regime. And this is the first chapter in their bloody tale.
From what was seen in today’s trailer, the Rogue team is in for a brutal fight the likes of which has never been seen in the Star Wars franchise!
